2013 Cavalcade Successful from Start to Finish! by
posted 06/05/2013 The 2013 Cavalcade was very successful from start to finish. The great weather was a factor in our success but the biggest factor was the number of volunteers that worked. I would like to thank all of you for your time and effort on the day of the Cavalcade and the days and weeks leading up to it. We needed approx 200 hours and they were all filled by the parents of CYL parents, Scott's sons and his friends and my daughter and her friends.
Scott Pipicelli did a great job as always scheduling and rescheduling teams even the night before and the day of. Thank-you to the ref coordinators Pat O'leary and Matt McCourt who spent a great deal of time finding the additional officials needed for the day. The lining of the field is always a big task, thank-you to Kyle Elmy and Brendan Carey for making themselves available to line the fields during the day. This job was made a little easier by the help of Rob Newton's fancy GPS unit he borrowed from work.
Thanks to Mark Mascheck, Tom Hart, Dan Eberle and John Blakley for the 5+ hours you worked on the fields and the stringing of the nets on Friday day into night. Our T-Shirt sale was very successful ,thanks to Dawn Newton. We sold 200 + in our pre-sale and had only 6 left at the end of the day. Dawn also did a great job on all the signs. Thanks to Jeff LoVetere for keeping up with the constant posts on the website. The on line sign-up for volunteering was coordinated by Shannon Cuadro. This was key to the success of our Cavalcade.
Family Pizza donated gift cards to our event. We decided to raffle them off to all the volunteers, Congratulations John Blakely and Stacy Kelsey. We would also like to thank Satoris Sports , Dicks Sporting Goods and Tom Hart for getting the Boston Cannons memorabilia for our raffle. Shannon Cuadro did a great job organizing the raffle.
I would also like to thank The Maschecks,The Barbers, The Olearys and Scott Pipicelli who did not leave until everything was done and the baseball fence was put back up at 8pm.
Thanks for all your hard work!
