WAIVER OF LIABILITY DUE TO INJURY, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, OR OTHERWISE
Lacrosse is an inherently dangerous sport. Participant/Player assumes any and all risks, inclusive of risks associated with emotional distress and any physical/bodily injuries, up to and including death. As a condition precedent to registering a player to participate in any activities sponsored by, or otherwise associated with Colchester Youth Lacrosse (CYL), that player and his/her heirs or assigns, agrees to release, and releases, CYL, CYL Officers/Board Members, Coaches, and any other person or party affiliated with CYL from any and all liabilities that might otherwise attach.
WAIVER OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, INCLUSIVE OF USE OF NAME, IMAGE, AND LIKENESS
As a condition precedent to registering a player to participate in any activities sponsored by, or otherwise associated with CYL, that player and his/her heirs or assigns, agrees to release, and releases, CYL, CYL Officers/Board Members, Coaches, and any other person or party affiliated with CYL from any liability or restrictions as it relates to intellectual property that may emanate from participation in such activities, inclusive of a use of that player's name, image, or likeness (NIL). CYL reserves the right to utilize such intellectual property, inclusive of the player's NIL, for any purpose that CYL sees fit. Such purposes may include, but are not limited to: marketing, advertising, and distribution/dissemination on or via one or more websites or applications (e.g., social media). CYL will not be responsible for compensating any player for the utilization of such intellectual property.
USA LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP/BIRTH CERTIFICATION
As a condition precedent to registration, a player will be required to have an active USA Lacrosse Membership through the relevant time period associated with the sessions. Additionally, participants will be required to furnish proof of birth/birthdate via submission of a copy of a birth certificate.
PLAYING TIME & POSITION PLACEMENT
Playing time and position placement will be up to the coach’s discretion. A player’s attendance, effort in practice and/or clinics, behavior, attitude, and sportsmanship will also have an impact on his/her playing time and field position. Our organization is a strong believer in helping produce strong men and women. This means that we encourage our young athletes to self-advocate. If you or your child has questions about playing time or position placement, we encourage discussion with the coaching staff first. We want to ensure that our players understand the decisions we are making to the best of their ability and feel comfortable speaking up for themselves.
24 HOUR RULE
A “24-hour rule” will be observed. The “24-hour rule” states that coaches will not discuss a game, or any situation in a game, until at least 24 hours after the fact in question. Parents/guardians are prohibited to confront a coach, team, player, or board member to discuss any game or practice situation(s) with the coaching staff until at least 24 hours has passed from the completion of the game or practice. A confrontation is defined as any interaction that escalates beyond a normal speaking tone and demeanor that involves criticism, yelling, profanity, or derogatory comments directed at a coach, team, player, board member or official.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Players and parents/guardians are expected to conduct themselves with "professional behavior" during practices, clinics, and games. We believe that this is fairly self-explanatory. This section may be updated in time to reflect specific provisions pertaining to conduct/behavior and procedures for dealing with departures from acceptable behavior. By virtue of lodging your registration, you agree to the acceptance of these additional terms without formal notice as to the same.
